Expertise Robert Fonow is a telecommunications industry general manager, troubleshooter, thought leader and a senior consultant who works on projects in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America in the areas of wire and wireless voice services, broadband, CATV, IP, WAN data communication services and manufacturing. Mr. Fonow has extensive experience in network development, operations, sales and marketing. He has more than 20 years of experience at the highest level of government and business and led a US government project on international critical infrastructure vulnerability assessing the design and protection of global networks, telecom hotels and data centers.
Work with T/TI He served as a Business Analyst / Market Specialist on the USTDA funded T/TI project to design the first Data Center in West Bank. He assessed the local market conditions to measure the potential market for the services. Based on the Market Research, he identified most feasible services for the IDC and recommended the marketing and sales strategy for the start-up.
Other Professional Experience In 1993 Mr. Fonow established a consulting practice RGI Ltd., to provide consulting services between long term assignments. He advises on regulatory issues, network development, due diligence and integration of new acquisitions, management training, and developing enterprise value-added services applications strategy. His clients include INFONET (now part BT), RAND Corporation, Department of Defense National Defense University, Scientific Atlanta Shanghai Inc., Worldcom (including WilTel, MFS International) and Trivon AG of . Prior to starting RGI Ltd., Fonow was the in charge of data communications development in Asia for Sprint International, where he trained technical, marketing and sales teams in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
