Jean Pierre Chamoux
Jean Pierre Chamoux is an expert in industrial and communication policies for over 30 years, Pr. CHAMOUX joined the University Paris Descartes in 2001. An industrial engineer by training (Ecole Centrale Paris 1963) he received his Doctor’s degree in 1967 from the University of Paris (Facultý des sciences) and a Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin (Ch.E. 1964).
From 1995 to 1998 Pr. Chamoux chaired the Office for Service Industries in the French government Finance & Treasury department. He founded and managed the research centre “Droit & Informatique” in Paris from 1975 to 1998. From 1986 to 1989, he was head of the Regulatory Authority for Post & Telecommunications in the French government. Former Director of a publishing house from 1972 to 1986 he was the editor of the quarterly journal “Le Communicateur” established in 1986. He published several books on communication, industrial policies and restructuring and many articles, in France and abroad.
Pr. Chamoux has been consulting on network and public service restructuring with governments and international bodies, including the OECD, the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the World Bank. He is an active member of the Paris based NGO .Centre d.ýtudes & de recherche stratýgique.. He is also member of the European Parliament expert policy group .European Ideas Network. and seats at the board of ICREI, the International Center for Research & environmental Issues, founded 1992 in Aix en Provence.
Until 2010, he chaired the TU Delft (NL) scientific advisory group on Next Generation Infrastructures. a multi-sector research team established in 1997 with the support of the Dutch Government, working on transportation, communication, power, sewage and water supply.
